We started Pecan Print House on one idea: your calendar should live on the wall, not folded in a drawer. That only works if it actually stays on the wall, flat, straight, and looking good, for a full year. Tape stretches. Corners curl. Poster strips lose their grip by month four. We'd hear about it from customers, and honestly, we'd run into it ourselves.
So we built the hanger we wished existed.
The idea was simple. Getting it right wasn't.
A calendar hangs in the same spot for twelve straight months, so whatever holds it up has to actually hold up. We wanted something that felt as considered as the calendar itself, not an afterthought bought separately from a hardware store. That meant real wood, not plastic. Magnets strong enough to keep a full-length print flat against the wall, not just tacked at the corners. And a way to protect the print from those magnets, since bare metal against paper for a year is asking for trouble.
We went through a lot of rounds to land on the final design: a solid wood frame sized to match our calendars exactly, magnets set into the frame and covered with soft fabric, and a box that protects the whole thing in transit. The fabric detail is the one we're proudest of. It's not there for looks. It sits between the magnet and your print, so the magnet never touches the paper directly, and it gives the hanger enough grip to hold a full continuous calendar flat without slipping. It's a small detail most hangers skip entirely.
We tested, adjusted, and tested again before we were willing to put our name on it. No shortcuts on the wood, no shortcuts on the fabric, no shortcuts on the fit.
